Guarding against infection. Healthful living habits are the best way to protect yourself against infection.But here some further safeguards.
-1. Do not come into close contract with persons suffering from colds or other infections of the nose.throat,and lungs if you can help it.
-2. Wash your hands. before eating and after using the tiolet.
-3. Keep your fingers and objects that may not be clean away from your eyes,nose, and mouth.
-4. Protect your food from dirt and insects and drink water only from sources that are known to be pure.
-5. Wear enough clothing to protect you from the weather.
-6. Treat cuts and small wounds promptly.
-7. Blow your nose gently when you have a cold; otherwise the infection may travel along the Eustachain tube to infect the middle ear.
-8. Have yourself immunized against smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, typhoid fever, and other contagious diseases that may be common in your community.
-9. See your physicain and your dentist regularly.They will help you protect your body from infections caused by abscessed teeth, diseased tonsils, and in fected sinuses.
